find a different printer…and talk to some sign guys…a local sign printer here in Anchorage got some new wizbang printer that took my image file of 88" X 20" @ 250dpi .tiff and the output was
incredible. They charged me $195 ea. Some of the tack sharp effect is due to this printer actually heats up the vinyl prior to the ink being applied.

I have several pictures of fractals pictures. I want to print on vinyl size 22×80 inch. The print people want the image in Illustrator format, because it in vectors, not in dots, so picture will be sharp and even. I have that picture in PSD layers.it s about 5-8 mb file.Any suggestions? Thanks.

This can be done, but clearly not by the service you are using. This is not a "quick print" type job…call a local commercial photographer or outdoor advertising firm and ask them if they can recommend a service they use.

I’ve always had good luck with L’oreal. Other colors fade after one or two shampoos.

Use an image editing program like Photoshop.

What version of Photoshop? If it’s 7 or CS use the patch tool and tidy up with the healing brush.

If you have PS7 or above , the patch tool will make this automatically In V6 use the clone tool and try different settings in the tool bar. Color will probably do what you want.

Rather than touch things up manually, try using Photoshop’s selective color command to remove magenta from red. It will probably look more natural than doing it by hand.

Here’s an example:

Easy.
Use your Clone Stamp Tool, change the setting to Lighten and drop the opacity to around 50%. Pick a clear area near the area that you want to correct for your source and paint those spots away.

Hi PhotoShop gurus!

I post here because i know that there are people than can make what I need in minutes and, if I do that, I need days.

I am the WebMaster of the site http://www.irrigacion.gov.ar (site header…)

As you can see, i put "autumnal leaves" there (here and now, in Mendoza, Argentina, is autumn).

Well…. now came winter… Can you make a winter change to this image (http://www.irrigacion.gov.ar/desarrollo/site_header.jpg) and send me to ?

Thank you in advance… and you know.. your piece of art can be in the Net.

Oh wow.

And I’m sure it was only an oversight that you didn’t include your fee for the job….

As one who has battled the plethora of forms, certifications, background checks, financial reviews, references, budgets, statements of work and general red tape involved with performing work on behalf of the U.S. government, it’s refreshing to see how the government works in Argentina. Just pop on to Usenet and ask for free work from anyone willing to do it. Now there’s government efficiency! ——————

How does one get a paid ‘webmaster" job without being able to make even simple graphics?

Perhaps he works for free and that’s why he expects others to do the same?

Anyway, I work with a lot of webmasters who don’t do graphics. That’s what graphic artists are for. 😉

Very true. As I see it webmasters are basically site admins responsible for the working and maintenance of a site; nothing to do with design. But, many of them front themselves as also being web "designers" when they are not. However, if his site maintenance responsibilities include image changes/updates/etc., then he needs to learn to perform the tasks he’s committed to performing.

The simplest, unobtrusive clipart is his easiest cure; can probably find it free. Winter/snowflakes, Spring/flowers, Summer/butterflies, suns, whatever, Autumn/leaves… or whatever is applicable and simple for the site’s region.
