After finally removing Beta CS3 (remind me not to try beta CS4) I have CS3 installed.

My Logitech cordless trackball, slows way down in both Bridge, and PS. In CS2, I have no problems, and no problems any where else.

I have reinstalled the drivers for the trackball. My Wacom Graphire tablet is fine.

Any Ideas?

Make sure you have the latest drivers. You should always have the latest drivers to go with the latest software.

Others, including me, have found that some of the Logitech mouse/trackball drivers have caused PsCS3 sluggishness or weirdness. Download the latest drivers manually and install them; it worked for me.

I, also, am having troubles with my Logitech trackball in PS CS3.

I did download the latest drivers from logitech, which appear to be this "setpoint 330" thing. This was a total mess. SetPoint appeared to be rather generic. I have my center wheel set to "double click". There was no way to set my trackball in "setpoint". This appears to be a Jan 07 release.

I reloaded the June of 06 drivers from
< http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/JOYSTICK-GAMEPAD-WHEELS-and -TABLETS/LOGITECH/Logitech-Cordless-TrackMan-Wheel-9791build 25.shtml>

was able to set my wheel and buttons, but again PS CS3 would not recognize these settings.

Where can I get the most recent drivers without using setpoint?

Strange, I use Logitech’s Cordless Optical Trackman with Setpoint having no trouble; same version as you. Could it be the installation was somehow screwed?

Hi Dierk & thank you,

I’m quite sure the install was fine. Are you able to set your wheel to a double-click instead of a scroll?

The other thing I learned was that I should install all hardware drivers before installing any software.

So this weekend I will uninstall all Adobe, uninstall mouse, unplug mouse, reboot, plug in mouse, cancel "new hardware", download mouse (& wacom tablet) drivers, then reinstall all Adobe.

Does anyone know if this will work?

All of my hardware drivers, including the driver for my Logitech Cordless Trackman FX, were installed before I loaded Adobe Web Premium CS3.

Photoshop CS3 is the only program in which I have encounter a problem. Originally I had both pointer speed and button issues. By adjusting tweaking the memory usage and scratch disk settings, I fixed the speed issue. Unfortunately, I am still unable to use the Drag Lock button on my trackball, which can make using Photoshop quite arduous.

Has anyone found other fixes to this problem?

Hi,
Thanks for the information. Strangely I cannot find how to set the scratch disk location. I looked under edit\preferences but could not find it. PS help just describes scratch disk, but no mention how to set it.

This might help. I had problems with my Logitech mouse and CS3 beta (running in ‘absolute’ mode like the old graphics tablets). I set the mouse up in control panel like below. Now I only experience Absolut after work in a glass…

I found this link quite useful to adjust memory usage and scratch disk.

is the location of the newest drivers. It is called setpoint. I was able to make my trackball work in CS3. it only worked when my usb trackball was plugged in usb.

currently I have other issues where my tackball is plugged into a ps2 point, and runs through a switch. this is because I operate 2 computers, with one monitor, keyboard and trackball.

have ordered a new switch, so that the trackball does not have to use a ps2 adaptor and will remain usb throughout its connection to both computers. wish me luck.

but i will tell you that when i shut down all systems and plugged in my trackball directly into my "graphics" system, setpoint recognized my mouse, and all my wonderful settings (including having the wheel set for double-click) were functioning. But as soon as I shut everything down, and went back thru the switch and the ps2 adaptor, both computers shifted back to generic mouse features.

This problem ONLY began with PS CS3.

For those of you with only one computer and your mouse is usb, try downloading those drivers.

Thanks, this is really strange. I have my trackball currently in ps2 point. I will change to USB and see what happens.
