That’s it. I know it’s probably really simple but I just don’t get it. I’ve searched help files and trawled lots of posts, but nothing. Please help.

For starters, whether the image file is a jpg or not is not important.

So, your real question is how to convert a square image to a round one.

Perhaps create a selection using the oval mask. Copy the selection to a layer.
Then save the layer to a file. You save this layer as whatever image format you chose to use.

I’ll bet someone has a better method.
