Machine: Intel Core2 Duo 2.6Ghz, 4 GB ram, 200 GB on system partition, Nvidia GeForce 7600GS PCI-E video card (I think it’s 256 memory) feeding a pair of flatscreen viewsonics.
CS3 ran just fine on this configuration until yesterday morning. Then Pshop failed to load. It stopped while reading palettes then "…has encountered a problem and needs to close…"
same thing/message with InDesign. AI gives a little different message, says it needs BRS Pencil tool, Expands, and Pathfinder Suite plugins (they ARE there…BTW) then goes away. DW and Acrobat and Distiller will load and they seem to work OK.
Only "new" thing on the system is Enfocus PitStop Pro 7.1 demo Acrobat plug in (awaiting new S/N for purchase).
I have gone thru the 15 step trouble shooting to no avail.
I have run "repair" to no avail.
I have deactivated (via DW) uninstalled and edited registry and reinstalled to no avail.
I have reinstalled CS2 and that works. But CS3 simply won’t.
I did run the update on CS3 so AFAIK all components are up to date.
