Hi,
I’ve just upgrade my PC from XP to VISTA.
In XP, I can import (capture) a picture from the built-in webcam on my laptop to PS CS3, but in VISTA, I don’t see the option that let me do the same thing.
I know that captured picture from webcam does not worth being retouched in PS CS3, but it is convenient for making credit of my project.

Anyone know how to do it in Vista?

* * I suspect is that in XP, HP (my laptop is dv6000t) has a package call WEBCAM SOFTWARE, but for Vista, HP only has the driver, and what I need is that software.

Thanks in advance

Kha,

Yes, I suspect you need the webcam software that is Vista-compatible before you’ll see any way to import images into Photoshop from your webcam. For example, I have an Intel PC Camera Pro which is rather outdated and has no Vista software, but Vista does recognized it as a camera source for some applications. I thought it might be available in PS as a WIA camera, but I was wrong. On the other hand, my Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 is supported under Vista with its own software package, and has its own Import menu option in Photoshop.

Regards,

Daryl
