I am printing some flyers that are going to be two color. Black and a specific Pantone color. There is a collage of photos, some of them are going to be black and white, and the others are supposed to be that pantone color and white. I am trying to set the pantone ones up as magenta for the press. Our press is a 4 color press, but we are only going to use two plates (Black and magenta/pantone). Can someone please help me acheive this change with my photos. I am adjusting the photos in photoshop CS2, and doing the flyer layout in Illustrator CS.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Have you tried duotones in Photoshop or Illustrator? That’s where I’d look.

I’d start with a grayscale image, and add a spot color channel.

Thank you Tom and John! I tried and tried searching for those and somehow kept missing it. That is exactly what I was looking for.
