Hey,
I am trying to create a bunch of graphic slides for a video and I can not get any negative leading with the text. For example if my font, Arial is a 24 px size I can not get the leading (space between the lines) below 24. I would like the leading to be 18 but it won’t go below the size of the font. I have tried various fonts and they all act the same.
Any help out there? This is killing my productivity.

Thanks,

Curtis

If that doesn’t help reset the type tool.

Hmmmm, not sure I like all of these "improvements". I always just highlighted the text and then changed the size, which now does not work. Guess I need to learn the workflow changes. Thanks for the help! In the future, how does one reset the type tool?

Thanks again,

Curtis

I always just highlighted the text and then changed the size,

That does still work in CS2 and 3. Maybe you do need to reset the tool as John suggests. Hit the Down arrow next to the "T" in the options bar, then the little arrow top right for the fly-out menu.

"In the future, how does one reset the type tool?"

Read at the following link, paying particular attention to Len Hewitt’s reply # 2. Make sure to look at the image linked at the bottom of his post, as well.http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.ef4a07f/1 <http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.ef4a07f/1>In order to make changes to a text layer we haven’t had to actually select the text in the document window for a few versions now. Of course, if you want to change just some of the text, you have to select it, but that’s only logical.

And FWIW, in PS CS2 text can still be changed in a wholesale fashion, whether it’s actually selected in the document window or not.

Thanks Chris…that did it. Funny, it would work if I just selected the layer and changed the leading but not if I selected the text.

Oh well, live and learn?!? 🙂

Appreciate the help from all!
