I’m a beginner with Photoshop 7, and having lots of trouble trying to resize a GIF file (for print). I’m trying to resize the image to a smaller size, but cannot obtain the resolution or quality of image. Anyone know the fix to this?

Thanks in advance.

Danni,

If you want to print the image smaller just go to Images -> Image Size Make sure "resample" is unchecked and "constrain proportions is checked. Bow simply change width or height to the size you need it to print.

If you need to edit it you should convert to RGB mode first (Image -> Mode -> RGB Color).

You should go to RGB mode before resampling as well. When you are in indexed mode, you cannot resample as smoothly.

Danni,

GIF is not a suitable format for print. GIF has a limited colour palette (256 colours maximum) and the file format carries no resolution or sizing information. You should be using TIFF
