hey guys,

use photoshop CS2 on windows, in the past, the colour white in my pallette changes to creme, as you can imagine this is very annoying, the problem was solved last time when i used the ‘repair’ tool on photoshop.

however, it has happened again, and i don’t know what to do, i’ve ‘repaired’ it numerous times but had no success, i’ve reset preferences, and i have also done a couple of system restores, but no luck,

hope you can help me 🙂

Maybe your monitor profile is corrupt.

BTW how did you use "the repair tool" on Photoshop? What repair tool?

hmm, is this something which i can change on photoshop, or is it something that needs to be changed in the control panel on windows, because i’m pretty sure that everything else looks fine.

e.g. a document on microsoft word has a white page rather than creme, so…..

is this something i can change in photoshop?

(i’m not much of a PC wiz)

Rob, to use the repair tool you go to your control panel, click on add or remove programs, and then clico on remove programs click on photoshop, click remove, then you are asked if you want to repair it or remove it, click repair mate 🙂

click repair mate

Ah, I see. (never do that).

To calibrate you launch Adobe Gamma (Control Panel) and follow instructions.

This is not a very accurate way, better is to use a hardware device like Eye one Display 2 (X-rite) or others.

The objective is to calibrate the display (bring it to a known, predictable state) and make a profile (a description of the characteristics of the display).

The profile is automatically stored in the proper folder and made active. Also Photoshop (and other Colour Managed applications) will adapt it.
