Anyone else having this problem?

I’m not sure how to find those threads. I never was able to install and tryout CS3 because it too would not install.

Like Dave said, there are a bunch of somewhat similar threads (discussions) about install and function issues; since you haven’;t provided mush info about your specific situation, it’d be difficult to point you toward the most suitable thread.
All you have to do is read the thread titles listed in this forum’s thread index. Read through them and find one that sounds like folks are having nearly the same problem you’re having. Read carefully about what they’ve tried, and the solutions offered. You might do well to try some of the suggestions offered.
If the suggestions don’t work, then describe YOUR system specs, and give details about everything you’ve tried to solve the problem. MORE details are better than fewer.
If this is your first time using forums here for troubleshooting, you would do well to read the following post which explains how to get the most efficiency out of your time and interactions here.
I have read all the other threads I could find, on here and on dppreview.com. I do have other Adobe products installed.
Some say you have to run the Adobe software that will remove everything regarding Adobe from your hard drive and registry — that only works ocassionally.
Others say you have to format your drive, reinstall Windows and then the installation of CS4 goes on without any problems.
Some of the others with my problem have actually purchased the software and then discovered the problem(s) with the Adobe installer.
In conclusion — if it will not install on a computer your only hope is to format your drive and go through the very time consuming task of reinstalling the operating system and all the other software you use BEFORE you can use, or just try, the new version of PS.
So what I am hoping for is a way to ‘at least’ try CS4 to see if is worth the upgrade from CS2 without having to completely rebuild my computer.
