Hi,

I’m new to Photoshop so please be gentle…I have Photoshop CS2 ver. 9.0.2 running in Windows XP.

A friend has asked me if I could do them a favor, convert a photograph to a jpeg image that looks like it was drawn by hand in pencil or ink. Is there someone out there with the patience to walk me through the steps to make this a reality?

There’s many to choose from. Just pick one that shows you pleasing results.

There are a couple of Actions on the Adobe Exchange that are good for this. One is called "Sketchy" and another is PencilArtwork. They both do the more or less same thing, duplicating the layer. setting to Dodge and applying Gaussian Blur.

Also, explore your Filters. Graphic Pen or Charcoal might come in handy.
