In the system requirements I read that CS needs SP3 when using Windows 2000. This could be very problematic for me. I still only have SP2 because installing SP3 causes a BSOD on my other computer (simple network) and SP4 totally messed up my OS to the point I had to re-install it completely. (tried twice)

I have PS since version 2.5 and bought every upgrade since because I simply love this program. But now I am reluctant because I am not sure it will work and as a hobbyist I can’t afford to spend my savings for something I won’t be able to use.

Chris, I can fully understand that you can’t answer every question asked here, but I sure hope you will be kind enough to help me out on this one.
Will PS run on Windows 2000 with SP2?

Greetings from Belgium,

Ronald

Ronald, I wonder if the more appropriate measure is to find out why your computer won’t accept the SP’s. You can get help from MS on email, which, the last time I used it, was free, but slow. The responders treat this form as thoroughly as the phone version, which costs bux!

I have W2K with all the upgrades and never had any failure due to the SP’s.

Ron, another adobe employee confirmed it will run on 2k w/lower than sp3, though that is recommended. Not sure if it was here or in the lounge, but it was recent.

Lawrence,

I totally agree but this was already tried by a very knowledgeable person, alas without success. As I have a very stable system running SP2 I was hoping I could leave it this way…

Dave,

That’s very good news. Thanks a lot for making me a happy man 🙂
