Hello,

You have a rectangle or a square figure in photoshop. You put it in selection, for exemple, by SHIFT-LEFT CLICK on the layer. My question is : how to make the selection bigger (width+x pixels, height+x pixels), without making progressive contours like the "expend" tool does ?

Equivalent question : how to loose progressive contour when it is made ?

I think you mean control left click. But to answer your question, use the Select – Modify – Expand menu item.

Thank you for your answer, but the problem with the Expand tool is that it makes automatically a progressive contour after expanding the selection (rounded corners).

I’m still searching…

Use Select > Transform Selection and then drag the bounding boxes to resize the selection. You can use the Info Palette to view the changing dimensions in whatever units (pixels, inches, cm) you choose. ——————————-
