Man I have never had so many problems as I am with this version! I can be working on a photo and poof…the tools quit working. All I get is the arrow, no tools will turn on. I’m on a pentium 4 with 512 memory and PS7 works just fine. Any idea? Thanks!

Just taking a guess here, do you only see the arrow outside your image and nothing inside it? If so, then I can only suggest that perhaps you’ve got the Caps Lock key active such that you are getting the precise cursor instead, which is a small crosshair and dot that might go unnoticed depending upon the colors and patterns in your image, and your own visual acuity.
I have been using PSCS for a few days now.. and It’s working great.. and I love the improvements — finally folders within folders. Nice!
Anyway, I have seem to stumble along a little bug in it, that is while working in the program.. if you minimize PSCS and go do something else.. later go back to it (maximize).. and then try to select a tool (m) for the marquee tool. — all I get is the arrow, it selects the tool in the tool bar.. but doesn’t give me the tool to use. — thus needing to restart PSCS to continue.
Playing around with this problem still.. and found out that when the zoom tool is selected.. the doesn’t show the cursor being a regular arrow — it’s the resize arrow.. ( <—> ) but when all the other tools are selected… just a pain arrow.
Same here. I posted this a couple days ago. Do any of you guys have theme software enabled? Including XP theme in services? Are you experiencing this with files created in previous PS versions? With new files?

Can each of you experiencing the problem provide us with some information on your systems. A simple way to get the information through the System Info dialog, located on the Help menu (we don’t nbeed the serial # info included in this dialog). System info doesn’t include video card/driver info so you’ll need to provide that as well.
Video card is nVidia quadro4 980 xgl (128 megs) driver 45.23 HD is maxtor diamond back 200gb motherboard is asus p4c800 deluxe(onboard lan is disabled, onboard audio is disabled, onboard firewire is enabled) audio card is audigy platinum Ram is corsair XMS – no errors reported with memtest86
To others who also post system info, please do not include your serial # (even though it’s not the complete #). In the interest of easier reading, please don’t include the list of installed plugins – it’s really long.

Stephanie specifically asked you not to post your serial number which I have just removed. By showing your serial number on line you might have jeopardised the integrity of your serial number – meaning somebody could have stolen it for their own usage and therefore invalidated your right to upgrade your copy. If you haven’t done so yet, register your copy immediately.
Never release your serial number to anybody – especially not in an on line forum
woops. i registered right after the install… the second install. i realized my mistake past the 30 minutes. thanks for removing. could you remove all that plugin info too?
Thanks everyone for replying. Everything is just fine now, it was my Wacom tablet, I need to update the drivers. I’m loving CS now..LOL! Love the new Color Replacement Tool, very cool and the File Browser rocks!
Hey Stephanie, I just bought the educational version of the CS suite. All components seem to be working fine except for PS. Everytime I start it, the tools will be working for about five minutes before they freeze up and all I can get is the selection tool. After reading some of the replys in this discussion I thought it a good idea to update the drivers on my Intuos 2 and Ati card. No change. Here’s my sys info
