Photoshop 7.0 freezes

Suddenly, if I use the "unsharp mask" or attempt to balance color my cursor freezes and the program is hung. I have reinstalled 3 xs with no remedy. Using Windows XP, no new software or modifications to initiate problem. Any suggestions?

My cursor used to hang and a new mouse fixed the problem.

Did you install the .01 patch?

Geez, either way the problems and reply about installing the patch still apply. Better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you a fool than open it and remove all doubt.
