I have some old images from Kodak DC260. The file format is flashpix (.fpx) I’ve heard that the ability to read these file was in PS v. 5, but I have no idea how to find the plug-in. Does anybody know where I can find whatever I need for PSCS to read flashpix files?

Thanks,
Linda

You’d have to copy the plugin from Photoshop 5.x.

We had to drop the FPX plugin.

Thanks Chris, but as I said in my post, I have PS 5 but have no idea how to find the plug-in. Can you tell me the name of the file?

Thanks

Flashpix.8bf I think.

Aha! I did a Search for fpx. Duh!

Thanks.

IrfanView has Flashpix listed as file type it can open.

Don’t see any options though – aren’t they like .pcd files, have more than one resolution embedded? Maybe it asks when you try to open one.

Nope, I’m searching the PS 5.0 CD and there’s no flashpix anything, and nothing .8bf that looks like it could be for flashpix.

Any more ideas?

Thanks,
Linda

Most files on the CDs are not there "intact", but embedded. They don’t extract until installed.

That being said, I have installation of PS 5.5 on older box here. .fpx support not there.
