DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY TIPS ON PRINTING B/W WITH THE 2200? I JUST DOWNLOADED QUADTONE. I HAVE TRIED IT ONCE AND DIDN’T LIKE THE RESULT. THE PRINT WAS TOO REDDISH BROWN. ARE THERE SETTINGS I CAN CHANGE TO GET TRUE B/W? I REALLY NEED INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING QUADTONE.
There was a guy that put out some software and a set of inks for printing greyscales on the 2200….. I cannot remember the company name but it was a modification to the print driver and interface that changed the way it printed. It substituted several different shades of ink for the CMYK and the light magenta and light cyan to give larget number of grea tones that could be printed.
From what I heard it did an amazing job but still had a bad problem with metamerization…. the difference in appearance of the image when viewed from an angle. It makes the white areas (No ink coverage areas) look different. This can be overcome by spraying your prints with a good UV Fixative which should be done anyway.
I will try to find my old notes about this guy and his ink/printing system but you might try cruising the Epson boards and the Epson web site….
