I have been running photoshop in windows XP pro for months without any problems. Now suddently it has started to freeze when i click file/new. I can do everything else fine. I can open an existing graphic and make any adjustmets I like.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing photoshop. I have tried running system restore but it doesn’t seem to help.

For the time being I am working round the problem by opening a junk image file and then converting that into whatever I want to create, but I would very much appreciate a proper solution if any can help.

Thanks.

Sorry, have just found that this quesiton has already been answered at NTD, "Photoshop freezes only after clicking file/new" #2, 19 Mar 2005 5:18 am </cgi-bin/webx?13/1>

Many apologies to administrators.

For anyone who is interested, the problem was that I had previously been using 2 monitors (extended desktop) and the window was being displayed in the second monitor (which was no longer connected). The solution was to reconnect the second monitor on my extended desktop and drag the missing window back into my main monitor.
