When using Picture Package in Adobe Photoshop CS2 and selecting 2(5×7’s) I get 2 5 x 6.4(approx) instead of 2 5 x 7’s.

It looks like in all Picture Package presets, 5 x 7 ends up as 5 x 6.4(approx)

I haven’t used picture package, but this would be caused if PP doesn’t do any major cropping and your image’s aspect ratio wasn’t close enough to 5:7. A lot of digital cameras aren’t close to the 2:3 aspect ratio of a 35mm image (which enlarges to 5×7.5).

I believe it worked fine in CS and earlier version, but I could be wrong. I tried another image and got 4.6 x 7 this time….

tried it on several images and most of the time I get 5 x 6.4. The images I tried this on are in a variety of sizes and resolutions, some taken by a 35mm and scanned and some by a digital camera.

reread mike’s post and do a little math. you might have to crop before running if you want actual 5x7sl.

Okay, I have now done some fooling around with PP in CS2. It appears that the script does not crop at all; it fits the image within the desired picture size (like File>Automate>Fit Image). So if you have an image that is not a 5:7 aspect ratio exactly, it will have some blank margins either on the sides or at the ends of the 5×7 picture area. For example, a 4×6 image will be increased to 4.67×7, with margins along the long edges; a 4×5 image will be increased to 5×6.25, with the margins at the ends.
