I’m using Photoshop 7.0 on the Mac. I would like to adjust a photo so that one circle is in full color and it gradually blends to black and white as it continues to the photo’s edge. Is there some way to do this? Thanks!

Here’s one way:

Create the black and white layer under the color layer. Add a layer mask to the color layer. Select the mask and either use the gradient tool – black to transparent – or use a larger soft paint brush, opacity adjusted down some, and paint black onto the mask where you want the black and white to show through.

And here’s another way: Make a Channel Mixer or Hue and Saturation Adjustment Layer to make the pic B&W and do the gradient bit on the AL’s mask.
