After I scan an image, I cannot activate it. It is grayed out. I’ve increased memory. I’ve been scanning on this scanner for 8 months; now I have a problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop. My OS is 9.2; Photoshop 5.5. What can I do? Ellie

I cannot activate it. It is grayed out.

What does that mean?

I would start with the routine disk maintenance

Then search your Mac onboard help for CONFLICT (extensions troubleshooting) <http://www.gballard.net/psd/nolaunch.html>

Thanks, G. Ballard: I should have been more specific. The scanning and processing in PhotoShop has been working fine until about a week ago, when for no reason I could discern, it began to give me trouble. I do weekly disk maintenance. I’ve found a somewhat combersome way around my problem, but I would like to return to "normal."

I think Buko has nailed the problem. (At least I agree with his diagnosis/solution).
