moving an image with its path

I want to move an image on a layer with its path, but it seems I can only do this separately. Is there a way to move them together?

apply it as a vector mask, move, than dupe it back out to a path.

Indeed there is:

Make your path and Select it.

In the appropriate Layer:
Cmd. Click the "Add Layer Mask" icon.

You now have a Vectored layer mask which contains your path and which can be linked to move with the other items in that layer.

If you want to edit your new path just click on the edge of your vector mask with the Selection tool.
