To be honest, I’ve never found the Photoshop attempts at changing a halftone portrait into an artistic one. But when on holiday I saw a booth in an amusement arcade where a photograph was taken, followed by various options to change it into a pencil or charcoal drawing. I was amazed by the results.

Are there photoshop plug-ins that do the job better than Photoshop itself? Or is there some secret I have yet to learn?
