CS4 change panel background colour?

Is there a way to change the panel (palette) background colour? Something like the lighter gray used for CS3 would be good! If I select a prior History state with CS4, all entries below are practically unreadable as they display with mid gray text on a mid gray background.

I don’t think so looks like CS3 to me.

I guess I’ve been using it long enough that it looks normal
