In Photoshop Elements 2, using Windows XP when attempting to insert text into a GIF image several odd things occur. ( Inserting text into images saved in other formats does not present any problems. ) As soon as you move the text tool over the image, the image turns red ( image is still visible). The text you type in appears white, although it is set to black. After placing the text in the image, if you click on the image, the area of the text shows box handles and appears to spin. After you place a second text on the image, the first one stops spinning and the newly placed image begins to spin. When you save and close the file and reopen, the text appears as it should. The problem is that all of these unusual things going on in the GIF image make it very hard to work with. Why does this only occur with GIF images and is their a solution?
