Several times now, intermitently, Photoshop is creating duplicate files…this is also the case in illustrator – both CS2.

If I look in the folder where I saved the file…there will be two of them there?!

What’s up with that?!

Thanks.

2 files can’t exist with the same file name in the same folder. there must be some difference.

Is it possible that you have extensions turned off (the Windows default)? This would allow you to have what appear to be the same file, but one might be a psd file and the other a gif/jpg/something else.

When you save for web, for example, Photoshop does not considering this to be saving your file, and will ask you at the end of the session to save the psd file.

I have seen the appearance of two files in Bridge, when in fact only one exists. Exit PS and start over.

Hi guys..

Nope, extensions are on….and there was indeed two files with the same name…???? Weird, huh?

It hasn’t happened in a day now…so I’ll see if it was just some weird glitch or if it continues.

Thanks.

Are you using a MS mouse with Intellipoint, perhaps?
