Halftone image prints darker in Illustrator than in Photoshop?

Not sure what’s causing this issue…when I print a halftone jpg in Photoshop it looks great, but when I open the same jpg in Illustrator and print, the image is darkened almost beyond legibility. Does anyone know what might be the problem?

I’m using Photoshop 7 and Illustrator CS.
