Managed to close on the problem

OK, my Photoshop is acting so weird i am really consdering selling my copy to some unlucky bastard and reverting back to 7.

If i open more than 3 files at the time, first two files open super-fast, from third file onwards, takes 30 second per file (1 meg file).

Not to mention that all tools work with lag. I Brush something, then 1 second later, it shows on the screen. Woo hooo!

I removed it, installed 7, 7 works perfectly, installed 8 again – grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…

Seems to be a lack of RAM….do you have a huge pile of it? PS likes extreme amounts.

Check your preferences. Is File Browser running in the background?

Check your preferences. Is File Browser running in the background?
Also, don’t know what your system is but do you have the latest multi-processor plugins available from the Adobe site?
