When I go to certain directories from within CS, some containing Fuji S2 Raw files, others containing just jpeg’s, Sometimes photoshop just "disappears" (all other apps keep running fine), other times I get the MS error that tells me the app has to stop running, it then sends a report to Microsoft (what good THAT will do I have no idea) then when I hit the Close button, CS disappears.

I’ve tried rebooting.

The last change I made to the system prior to doing this was to "activate" (CS ran for 5 days without this problem before I activated) however, my gut tells me that activating isn’t likely to be the cause of this problem.

I’ve tried moving the files from "that" directory to another.

The VERY first time it happened, this is how it went:
I browsed to a directory which had just gotten some new files from the camera. It showed me all the thumbnails of my Fuji Raw files. It let me open 3 of them. When I tried to save one – poof, CS disappeared.

The second time I went to that directory, it let me open 1 of them, when I tried to open the second one, – poof, CS disappeared.

The third time (after rebooting now), when I went to that directory it went poof.

So I turned off the browser, rebooted, and tried using File Open to go to that directory. (I have rebooted many times now and the results are always the same …. poof or the MS dialog followed by poof when I hit close.)

Any suggestions gratefully accepted. (I NEED these files for my client Friday morning so if you have any work-a-rounds, I’d love those too.)

If I don’t have success by Thursday night, I’ll uninstall CS and reinstall version 7 and work from there. Or does that sound like a bad idea?
