I want to resurrect this old thread. Does anyone know the specific settings (level settings or whatever) that would approximate the "fill Flash" feature?

If not, what are your favorite "fill flash" techniques in photoshop? Thanks.

Try Shadows and Highlights (PSE 3.0 and PS 8).

If you have CS try the Shadow/Highlights command … also Katrin Eismann’s book on retouching has a good couple of pages showing how to do-it-yourself fill-flash using contrast masks …
