Is it possible to create smaller subregions in the image where it’d be possible to use guides that only apply to that area? For example, with slices I’d like the guides to only be visible inside the slice. Thanks in advance.

Nope, can’t do it. But you can lay out your guides, create slices from these guides and then turn off the guides, leaving just the slices.

Peadge 🙂

You could make a set of your own guides in a different file then drag them in and align and link them as neccessary
Or perhaps you could put them in a layer set and turn them on and off —

You can’t do either of these things in Photoshop.

Why not ?
I assume you mean guides as in PS guides.
I’m talking about a workaround
Start a new file and just draw a vertical line on one layer and a horizontal line on another and drag them in as and when needed.
You can position them using the rulers’ minicursors or align with a PS guide As they’re on seperate layers you can also link them and align things with them using the usual PS commands
You can have a selection of long or short ones or even at various angles and delete any bits you don’t want once you’ve dragged them onto your working diagram

Ah, drawing lines. You inferred that it could be done with guides. Not at all the same thing.

And no snapping to the guides
