photoshop freezes after saving

photoshop is freeing after i save. have photoshop 7 and windows 98. when i installed photoshop nothing was wrong for about 5 days, but
after that it began to freeze after i save and sometimes when im just playing with it without saving.did i install it wrong or is there something wrong with my photoshop, or with my pc??

I mean all your hardware and software.

If the entire computer is freezing, though, you likely have a hardware problem such as the old Asus P3B motherboards that used to freeze up.

Do i have to buy a new motherboard or can i do anything

ok here they are:

400 mhz, pentium 3, 128 mb, 8 mb 3d video card, direct x 9.0. (im not sure if this is all, im doing this out of the top of my head.)

its a old pc, i think about 5 years old, maybe thats the problem.
