hallooo…!

is it possible to mark 2 different places
on a image at the same time?
Select two places athe same time for
protection against colouring?
I find nothing in the help directory
confirming that it can be done,
but I am busy doing something
where I’ve got to do it this way.

My Photoshop is an old CS2.

Use quick mask and paint the areas you want and convert to selection. You do know how to use quickmask?

Make one selection.
Make another one while holding the shift key.

LOL… thanx for this fast reply, Harry, Johan & Pit:-)

I am using shift Johan, as well as alt, in order to get the Eleptical Marqee Sircle perfect round.
Doing the second one, it cancell the first one out.

What i am doing is this.
Restoration of an 20 years old photo.
Now, it is black & white, and I am adding color to the eyes. Only the eyes. Problem came when I first colored the eyes, and then done levels. Doing levels, taking the colour out of the eyes again. And I want to do levels, and keep the colour in the eyes.

Sorry for being so long before answering, but I decided to put it where I can show you what I am talkin about.

hi dave,

first: i’m working with a rather "old" ps7.

I am using shift Johan, as well as alt, in order to get the Eleptical Marqee Sircle perfect round.
Doing the second one, it cancell the first one out.

there i have for most tools of the tool bar on top of my window below the menu bar a settings bar.
for the marquee tool there are on the left side four buttons. activating the second from the left side
changes the behaviour of the marquee tool to "add to selection". so you’ll become able to add another perfect circle selection without cancelling the first.

i don’t think adobe had changed such a basic item in cs2

ps: sorry for my bad english – it isn’t my native language

No, it’s still there, Pit, but apart from doing the second circle, it also give’s an error message ‘warning: no pixels were selected.’

you’re welcome, dave

ps:

it also give’s an error message ‘warning: no pixels were selected.’

make sure to choose a level with pixels in it. this message appears normally when you’re working in an empty (new?) level. it’s always worth to take an additional view at the level’s palette.

;o)
