Does anybody know the secret to get Photoshop CS3 to output a pure black, as opposed to the "rich black" that overlays CMY values on top of the black channel? We have a simple ad layout that we did in Photoshop, instead of a layout program, because we like some of the layer effects that PS provides. But the printer is complaining of registration "halos" on the text caused by color overprinting. I suppose that we could go in and erase the text elements from the CMY channels, but I figure there must be a more elegant solution.
