Whenever I try to run anything on the Photoshop "Help" menu I get an error message, "Adobe Help cannot start. Model subsystem returned this error: 1105."

After clicking the "OK" button, another message — "The operation could not be completed" appears, followed by "The instruction at ‘0x00864a4d’ referenced memory at ‘0x00e50b08’. The memory could not be ‘written’. Click on OK to terminate the program."

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this short of rolling back my OS to an earlier Restore Point (it didn’t help) or reinstalling Photoshop (which also didn’t help)?

This is running on a pretty recent Clean Install of Windows XP-SP2. How can I make my Photoshop CS2 "Help" work?

Help runs off your web browser. Make sure your online, that the modem is working properly, and there are no conflicts with virus programs, etc. Also since it’s running a browser it;s taking memory space to operate– make sure PS doesn’t have all your RAM tied up in the cache allotment. Hope this helps.

I get the same error all of a sudden. Ran a repair of PSCS2, to no avai – the helpfile even crashed towards the end of the registration. Runnin ahc.exe in the Adobe "help center" folder also crashes. Rolled bac Windows XP to a setup from a week ago, to no avail.

The helpfile actually worked less than a week ago. In the meanwhile have used Internet Explorer only once, (i never use it – use Mozilla) was accessing a MS where I had to unblock popups. I also checked th temporary internet files, deleted them, and since they were so many an it took a while to delete, i turned down the size of the cache.

I have later disabled popups again, and increased cache to 750 MB, bu that didn’t help.

I have tried all I can think of – reset all. I don’t know where P keeps it cache files, but the helpfile crashes without any files bein open as well.

I’ve been reading and reading on Internet (google) and find a lot o people with the same problem, but no solutions.

Also, since I bought PSCS2 from the online store, I have no CD so don’t know where to find the pdf version of the helpfile.

The system is a half year old DELL Latitude D600 and it came with SP installed. Again: Everything ran beautifully untill today. The onl system change from when it worked and till now, when it fails, was th tuesday Windows Update, but rolling back didn’t help, so that wasn’ the culprit.

Am I cursed

I am getting this message too.
Not the first time mind you…I had it before and the ONLY way I coul figure out how to get my Help file back was to reinsall…But even tha was a pain
It wouldn’t let me just reinstall…It wouldn’t even let me un-install I had to just DELETE the CS2 folder the install again
I don’t know what is causing this but it is a major pain in the behind I am glad to know I am not alone though…If you all figured out wha is causing this and what to do about it please let me know.

And yes I have LOTS of memory. 400G and 2G of RAM
I can’t even run the ahc.exe directly from the C:\Progra Files\Adobe\Adobe Help Center
I get the same erro
