photoshop 7 question

I have Photoshop 7.0 installed. When I click on the "browser" tab I get on the left window only the "desktop" and none of the other drives. When I click on the + sign by the desktop I get a "program error" message. The system is WinXP on AMP Sempron processor with 1 Gig of RAM. I don’t have the problem on my Pentium 4 system.

Any ideas how to get around this problem?
