We are using Windows XP, CS3 and Bridge to edit numerous photos on an external Esata harddrive. We will open a folder in Bridge and it will index the images, creating thumbnails for them. However, when we shut the external drive down and move it to a new computer, we have to start all over indexing and creating thumbnails. This also happens sometimes when we disconnect, then re-connect to the same computer. We’ve looked in preferences, but haven’t found anything that will enable us not to have to constantly re-index images, which takes several hours. Please advise.

You’ll probably get a bit more help in the Bridge forum.
