I have just bought a student vision of Photoshop CS3 through MSU. I have noticed that some of my files will not allow me to print (the print option is grayed out) while other files will let me print. I was wondering if I am just saving some of my files wrong or if I have be formatting my files wrong. Normally I would not mind but my class requires me to print them. So half of my files I can print and turn in and the other half I can not.

Any info would be helpful and the more detailed the better because I am a new user for this program and do not know very much about it.

Thanks

You should be able to print anything if you save it to a format your printer driver can understand. I would suggest saving (a copy) of the file in TIFF format, and printing that.

It is also possible that you have Image Mode at 16 bits, and your printer driver can only deal with 8 bits. Another thing to try (actually, try it first).

When printing to a personal printer from photoshop as long as you can see it on the screen the file format is irrelevant.
Do you know what kind of printer you have? Just wondering if this is a postscript issue. without out knowing more, my first guess would be image mode as well.
