I’m trying to erase part of a document scanned into Photoshop but I can’t fix the reference point. The cloning/healing point always moves whether or not I select "aligned". What I want to do is to select part of the document and erase some text with the same colour background.

These tools will always have a moving reference points
what you got to do is..
1- select ALWAYS the same area with your ALT-click.
2-select the background color with the color picker in order to paint with standard brush over the text, most likely in another layer.
