Ok I’m trying to put one image on top of the other, making the top image transparent. How do I do this? What I’m trying to do is put a logo onto a background without having the logo image looking out of place on the background. Is this what ‘merging’ is? Because when I go to the layers menu to merge it, the merge options are not available! Please help!

cheers

No worries, I have found a solution using the magic wand! But if anyone else has suggestions, please input, especially regarding transparencies of images!

cheers..

Each layer’s overall transparency is controlled (after making it) by Opacity setting for that layer in the layer palette. 100% is none, 0% is totally clear.

But you knew that I bet, and are referring to something else?

I think experimenting with blend modes would be a better bet in this instance.
