Every time I start up Photoshop CS (running under Windows XP, service pack 2), I get an error message saying:

Adobe Photoshop: Photoshop.exe – Unable to locate component.

This application has failed to start because Comp_32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

Clicking on the error message allows the startup process to continue and Photoshop runs fine – it is just an irritating way to start up each time. I have tried re-installing the program, but it made no difference. Can anyone help me find this dll file and place it where it is wanted, or figure out how to get Photoshop to stop looking for it? Thanks!

sounds like it’s from a plugin that you removed or uninstalled incorrectly.

either reinstall it and remove it with add/remove programs or see if dl’ing the dll will work:

Thank you Dave. I couldn’t figure out what plugin was wanting that dll, but I was able to find the dll at webzila and added it to my photoshop folder – now photoshop opens without any annoying messages.
