In Elements 2 Adobe uses PPI in image resize dialogue. In the Batch Process command Adobe uses DPI. When changes are made and read in EXIF info the DPI is actually read as PPI. Is there any difference in the two in the mind of Adobe and if not why would they not use just one term for the sake of consistency. Any comments or explanations would be appreciated.

DPI is a pox upon us all….they all should read PPI. Printers still use DPI, although in most cases they’re not really creating dots per se.

Re the Batch processing command, I would call that use of dpi an error that ought to be corrected in the next version….
