I am trying to get 2 or more images to overlap a bit and fade into each other (like a cross dissolve in a movie). . Feathering the selection is not enough. Is there a way to fade the opacity setting within a layer…..ideally is there some way of applying a tranparency gradient to part of an image so that it only affects part of the layers opacity.

cheers

Greg,

Jay Arraich has a tutorial about how to do this exact thing:

http://www.arraich.com/elements/pse_ffadeInto1.htm

If you haven’t already done so, you really should take a look at all of Jay’s excellent, free, Elements tutorials.
