After you have silhouetted an object, and then placed it as a smart object into a master photoshop document with a bunch of other silhouetted objects, do you then make image edits to the smart objects while in the master document or would you go back to the separate silhouetted file and make the image edits there, and then rebring the image back into the master document? Just seems easier to make the image edits to the master doc files instead. But was hoping for someone elses advice.

Thanks.

Did you not feel like explaining, is that why you wrote two words?

Not really.

Edits in Smart Objects are passive editing. Things like blending modes that reside in the child document are not applied in the parent or master document. Basically Smart Objects are for placing and not editing except for masking portions of the image if you wish.

Yes, making image edits in the master or parent document is what you want. Unfortunately there are limitations at this time with such objects.
