I am using CS3 on a OSX 10.5.2 system with a Canon i9900 printer. I can not access the ‘real’ printer preferences (paper type, etc..) even though I downloaded and installed the latest driver from the canon website.

Thanks for your help

Peter,

What happens if you update to 10.5.4?

thanks for your suggestion.

I did install 10.5.4….then deleted the old driver and Canon folder etc……run repair disc permissions….reinstalled Canons latest driver "i9900osx483ej7"…..but still the same, the normal printer references do not appear….also, it does not let me check the cartridge level, which makes me believe that the driver does not completely recognize the i9900….I can print, but not adjust the preferences like media type, borderless printing etc….

Peter,

Check with Canon to see if their driver is indeed fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.x.

Make sure you have completely removed the old drivers, this can be non obvious. My son had to call Canon to get it done properly.

I did it all again…removing all old drivers and reinstalling them….now it works…..

Thanks to all of you for your input
