Layer Content Options Not Working?

When I want to change an adjustment layer (say a Curves adjustment layer) to another type of adjustment layer (say a Levels adjustment layer), I thought I could do so by selecting "Layer Content Options …" under the Layer menu. But nothing happens when I do that.

Am I missing something?
