How do I access the transparency of a TIF file? When I open a tif file from another application it comes in with a transparency. I have some problems when I try to manipulate the file or change it’s format to say PNG. It comes into PS as transparent. It does not show an alpha channel, or a path. It does not have a layer mask. Is there a way to access what I would call the alpha channel. I know it as a RGBA file (Red, Green, Blue, Alpha)
This problem has come up many times and I have always found a way to do what I needed. I want to find a better way to just open the alpha chanel.

Thanks for your suggestions.
Robert

What exactly do you need to do? Why can’t you manipulate the transparency as it is?

Choose Select/Load Selection and you will be able to select the transparency channel.

Hope this helps.

That is exactly what I wanted to do. I just didn’t know where it was. Thank you very much!
