I have Photoshop CS3 and am wanting to create an image with tiling similar to the shuttle’s tiles. See

Although I have used Photoshop for many years just doing photo manipulation type stuff, I don’t have a great deal of experience creating images like this from scratch.
Is there someone out there that can give me a few pointers?
