CS2 has new feature in smart sharpen and reduce noise filter, that gives the option to save settings as a preset.
where are this presets are saved? are they a part of the pref file? the reason of asking is that i have a new pc and i want to save this settings in order to import them. backed up the CS2 Settings folder.do i need to save another folder? thanks in advance

Hi,
Just curious, does saving smart sharpen settings work as expected? It doesn’t on my computer… When I save a setting (say MySetting) and later change it, the new setting overrides the saved one…

Ronald,

Just curious, does saving smart sharpen settings work as expected? It doesn’t on my computer.

Same for me. The only way to actually preserve it is that I created an action that uses specific settings (as a part of a bigger routine).

If you create a pref in smart sharpen, then chang something while the saved name in in the box, it will save the new settings to the old name.

One of those features you will have to live with for now.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Yup, same behaviour here: changing established settings automatically overwrites them…which makes them pretty useless for the time being.

Try making a NEW setting first (by clicking the "new" icon) BEFORE making any changes and give it a new name.
Then (making sure that you can see the NEW name in the drop-down menu) change your settings.

That way, you don’t over-ride your old settings.

The bug here is that the pop-up reverts to show your older setting (rather than the newest one) and you then inadvertently over-write your older settings when you set the new ones.

thank you Ann for your comment.i tried your advice and it certainly makes sure that the original preset won’t be overrided.
however, creating a new preset every time i want to change the settings,is not very usefull. meanwhile,i reported adobe about that bug.

Where is "new" icon? All I see is "Save" and "Delete".

This thing is a bug that lets you save only one setting but…. have many different names for it. <G>
