In PS Elements 6, including Essentials 2; on xp, with Office 2003, when I hit help, in Edit mode, and go to Photoshop Elements Help, my Microsoft Office Picture Manager pops up instead.
Is this normal? I was planning to uninstall that program once I got used to using Photoshop E 6.

I was trying to look in PS6 help in order to make PS6 the default photo handler, where a new photo automatically
opens there, instead of it opening in MSOfficePicture Mgr.

Thanks again for any help.

Perhaps for whatever reason you and or Windows did not assign picture file extensions to Elements.
Open Windows Explorer and click on the image type you want to open in Elements (tif, jpeg, bmp whatever).
Click on Tools/Folder Options/File Types.
In registered file types click on the file type you want to open in Elements.
Then use the Open With box to select Elements.

OR just right click any picture file you want to open in PSE choose OPEN WITH
select PSE and tick the box that says
always use this program for this type files

If PSE is not listed you may have to hit browse
look for the PSE folder highlight the .exe file and say ok
